The Socialist History Group have produced a ‘zine’ that has several articles in that may be of particular interest to our members: “When Basque Bairns came to Wakefield”, about the arrival of 65 Spanish children in Wakefield in 1937; “Descent into Silence: Cawthorne’s Forgotten Tragedy” about the 1821 colliery disaster near Cawthorne when 10 ‘men’ were killed: and the events in Halifax in 1842 when a Chartist event turned to tragedy.
