12.30 pm  Requiem Mass celebrated by the Bishop of Wakefield

2.00 pm    Send off by the Mayor of Wakefield and the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire

2.15 pm    Wallk from Darrington to Wentbridge along the first part of the funeral route, led by Eric Houlder, photographer, archaeologist and historian of the Pontefract and District Archaeological Society. The walk is open to anyone but please contact us in advance if you want to arrange return transport   on 01924 373658.

Morning walk west of Retford

Two mile walk led by local historian Joan Board, along a most atmospheric section of the route, little altered by the developments of the last centuries but part of the main road from London at the period of Richard’s funeral. Two ancient inns with a colourful history, now private houses, mark the start and finish of the walk.
