Halifax Civic trust have been researching and discovering the ancient medieval route from Halifax, which can still be walked today. The Halifax clothworkers needed to bring their cloth to market at Wakefield. The route is steep and slippery, and led to two turnpike routes being established during the 1700s. As part of their 60th anniversary year, a group of volunteers from the Trust are working to bring the route back to life.
