The group have sent a progress report on their activities. Their first AGM has been held, and they mounted a display when Barbara Phipps gave a talk about Waterton in May. A local textile artist, Helen Riddle, is collaborating with them on a project ‘A Stitch in Time’.They also hope a collaboration with the Theatre Royal may be possible. They have held a positive meeting with Waterton Park Golf Club. The group are discussing the possibility of excavating one of the locks next to the Golf Club.
The group’s priorities now are to continue the survey of the wall, and identify a sample to restore, and to investigate the possibility of becoming a CIC or a charity. Fundraising will also be a priority.
