Work by the Landmark Trust revealed five small areas of decoration, first seen as tantalising glimpses behind lath and plaster, which were opened up by a team of expert conservators from Lincoln Conservation. In a room directly below a failing roof, they were astonished to uncover a complete scheme of extremely rare 16th-century decoration. The paintings cover three whole walls, a revelation which Landmark’s Director Anna Keay describes as the ‘discovery of a lifetime’ in her latest blog.
