The open season at the Gissing Centre in Wakefield has started. We are open every Saturday from 2pm until 4pm. Come to see the birthplace of George Gissing, Wakefield’s most renowned novelist, and our collection of Gissing memorabilia. You’ll find a warm welcome in Thompson’s Yard, of Westgate (down the side of the Natwest Bank). Easily combined with a visit to the Wakefield museum or the Hepworth.
