Talk about Pontefract and Sandal Castles, 17th June

Talk by Volunteers at Pontefract, free talk, Saturday 17th June, 2-3 pm

Established as motte and bailey castles following the Norman Conquest, the history of Pontefract and Sandal Castles is in many ways the history of medieval England.

Through six centuries these neighbours and their owners would be on the same and opposing sides in the major conflicts of the period.

Join the volunteers for this free talk, and discover why these Castles would be the basis of the best friendships – and biggest rivalries!
