WHS is an affiliate member of YAHS, so our members may be able to join meetings, numbers permitting.
This coming weekend, on Saturday 20th March at 2.00 pm, there will be a topical talk for the Roman Antiquities Section, entitled ‘Pandemic on Hadrian’s Wall?‘, given by by Dr Nick Hodgson. This is open to RAS and YAHS members and, Zoom capacity permitting, to members of YAHS affiliated groups and the wider public. The following weekend, on the final Saturday of the month, Saturday 27th March, there will be talks for the Industrial History Section and the Prehistory Research Section. The first of the talks, for the IHS, will be at the usual time of 11:00 am when Richard Jackson will talk on ‘THE EXCAVATION OF THE ROUND FOUNDRY, HOLBECK, LEEDS. The second talk, for Presistroy, will be at 2.00 pm and will be given by Fraser Brown on, ‘New Mesolithic Discoveries from the North: Changing Views on Hunter/ Gatherer Lifestyles and the Arrival of Farming’. This latter talk will be followed by a Q&A session and then by the Section’s AGM. The AGM is for members only, so non-members will be asked to leave the Zoom call at that point (probably about 3.20 pm).
