Historic England is asking for memories of listed pubs

Wakefield has a number of listed pubs, for instance the Elephant and Castle on Westgate, or the Black Swan on Silver Street. Do you have stories or memories to share about a listed pub? Historic England want to hear them The Missing Pieces Project will help them discover more about our historic environment through your stories and pictures. This Christmas, they’re inviting you to share your memories associated with the listed pubs and inns that you love.

England’s pub heritage is an important part of our history, and they would love to see your photos and memories so they can learn more about what makes these pubs special. Your view of a listed place is as unique as you are, so every snapshot and story you add is an important piece of the picture.
