A new Historic England Heritage Assets Guide to textile mills is available. It provides a general history of textile mills, the development of the buildings themselves, and how they were powered. It considers changes as the industry declined and how they can be repurposed successfully. The guide provides a list of further reading, and where advice can be sought.
