Writers from the Wakefield Word with Black Horse Poets group have kindly written creative responses to some of the 100 treasures.

Yorkshire’s Medieval Heroines Talk

Sharon Bennett Connolly is a writer and historian with a specialism in women in the Medieval Era.
Join Sharon this International Women’s Day for a fascinating talk about the Medieval Yorkshire women who made the headlines.
These include Pontefract’s own Alice de Lacy, Isabel d’Aubigny, the countess who ‘told off’ Henry III, and Joan Beaufort, the matriarch of a dynasty that fought on both sides of the Wars of the Roses.
The talk will be followed by a short Q and A. Sharon will be available after the talk to sign and sell books related to the talk.
