Celebration at Horbury for the birth of John Carr in 1723

Announcement of an upcoming celebration weekend for the 300th anniversary of the birth of John Carr, architect of St Peter’s Church and one of Horbury’s most famous sons. The programme of events, put together in partnership with a number of local organisations takes place between Friday 28th and Sunday 30th April, and will include a family-focussed event “Night at the Church” on Friday evening, an exhibition, flower displays and open church on Saturday and Sunday, a lecture on Saturday afternoon, and a celebratory concert on Sunday evening.
