Invitation from The Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield
Join a special backstage tour, taking in the stories of the historic building and a look behind-the-scenes, guided by one of their expert team.
Discover the 200+ years of rich history within the walls of the theatre. Built as a Wesleyan Mission in the early 1800s, the church was – at the time of building – the largest Methodist chapel in the world. Now grade II* listed, the theatre is jam-packed with fascinating history and notable names.
During the tour you’ll discover how the building was converted into a theatre in the early 1990s, how the technicians make the shows look and sound great, where the performers get ready to entertain you and so much more!
After your tour, you’ll polish off your visit with some delicious refreshments served in the Courtyard Café-Bar:
On Sat 6 November at 11am, you can warm up with some tasty Bonfire Night themed treats.
On Sat 11 December at 11am, think all things Christmas – mince pies guaranteed!
