Deborah Scriven has maintained an interest in local history over many years, being a founder and active member of the Ossett Historical Society since the late 1970s. In 1997 she became the Local Studies librarian for Wakefield, which brought her into contact with local and family historians from across the world. Since taking early retirement in 2010, she has continued to be involved in both research and voluntary projects . She joined the Wakefield Historical Society Council in 1998 and was Lecture Secretary 2002-2011.
Lesley Taylor has been Lecture Secretary of our Society for several years. Following an MA by Dissertation on the subject of eighteenth century Wakefield completed in 2006 she has continued her research into the town in this period, writing journal articles and giving talks. She has also produced two books in collaboration with our Web Manager, Shirley Levon.
Brian Thomas's particular interest is in archaeology.
